Man Steals Humvee From Navy SEAL Base & Gets Arrested After Pursuit | Chula Vista

08.12.2022 | 2:48 AM | CHULA VISTA – On 8-11-22, the Suspect broke into the U.S. SEAL base near Imperial Beach. He stole a military HumVee and drove through two gates to escape the base security. This afternoon, the suspect was seen sitting in the HumVee behind the Home Depot at Palm Ave and Saturn Blvd in South San Diego. As SDPD officers approached the male, he took off going cross-country into the Otay River Valley west of the I-5. He made it to city streets and eventually entered Chula Vista, finally ending up in a Sand dredging operation, where he was surrounded by officers at gunpoint. The man surrendered. A replica handgun was found in the vehicle. We were able to speak with the suspect where he gave his name, and why he took the HumVee. The SDPD will eventually hand the male over to the U.S. Navy C.I.D. Agents & Military Police. For licensing, contact info@onscene.tv Follow our other platforms!
