Man Stabs K-9 After Assaulting Officer With Machete (CAUGHT ON CAMERA)

11.03.2020 | 5:30 PM | OCEANSIDE – An officer on a traffic stop was approached by a belligerent man. The suspect retrieved a machete and attempted to attack the officer while inside his patrol car. The officer got the window up part way but the machete made contact with the glass and send shards flying, subsequently injuring the officer. The officer was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The suspect took off into a drainage ditch that has heavy brush in it. Officers from Oceanside, Carlsbad, and SD Sheriff’s assisted The man made his way though the drainage to the Collage Blvd bridge where officers were waiting for him. The man waived around the machete in the drainage before officers shot him with a less lethal bean bag round, stabbing himself in the stomach, and stabbing fighting with a police K-9.
