Man Shot and Killed at Venice Dog Park

- VENICE (CNS) – The 28-year-old man fatally shot at a dog park in Venice was identified Thursday.Los Angeles Police Department officers from the Pacific Division responded to the Westminster Dog Park at 1234 Pacific Ave., between Westminster Avenue and Main Street, around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday where they found a man with gunshot wounds in the parking lot, Officer Rosario Cervantes told City News Service.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel.
He was identified Monday by the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner as Zackery Melton.
Police remained at the scene into the early hours of Thursday morning interviewing witnesses and searching for clues in the fatal shooting.
