Man Shot After Confrontation Near Houston Corner Store

A man was hospitalized after being shot during a confrontation with an unknown person Monday night in Houston.

The shooting occurred around 10:20 p.m. on September 15, 2026, near Liberty Road and Staples Street.

According to Houston police, the man, who is in his 40s, had gone to a nearby corner store to buy a soda. While returning home, he encountered an unknown person and a confrontation occurred for an unknown reason.

During the confrontation, the person shot the man in the ankle and buttocks.

The wounded man was able to return home and call for help. Houston firefighters transported him to a hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The shooter had not been identified as police continued their investigation.
