Man Killed In South LA Hit-And-Run

A man was found dead in the roadway early Thursday morning following an apparent hit-and-run crash in South Los Angeles.

At approximately 5:30 a.m. on August 6, 2026, firefighters responded to the area of Colden Avenue and San Pedro Street following reports of a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle.

When crews arrived, they located an adult male lying in the street and determined he was deceased.

LAPD officers responded and taped off the area as investigators began canvassing the neighborhood for surveillance cameras that may have captured the collision or the vehicle involved.

A bystander at the scene said the victim may have been lying in the roadway for some time before he was discovered.

No description of the vehicle or driver involved was immediately available.

The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
