Man Killed After Crashing Into Tree | Simi Valley

09.02.2021 | 2:02 AM | SIMI VALLEY – Simi Valley Police officers responded to a single-vehicle collision into a tree in the 3300 block of Tapo Canyon Road.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel located the vehicle in the front yard of a residence.

The vehicle sustained significant damage. The driver (sole occupant) was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle was traveling southbound on Tapo Canyon Road, between Walnut Avenue and Township Avenue, at an unsafe speed.

As a result, the driver lost control and veered off the roadway and into a tree.

It is unknown whether driving under the influence was a factor.

The driver is identified as a 21-year-old male resident of Simi Valley.
