Man Killed After Being Crushed By Vehicle In DTLA

At approximately 3:30 a.m. on April 1, 2026, officers responded to a fatal incident near Broadway and Pico Boulevard in downtown Los Angeles.

A man was found trapped beneath a vehicle. Bystanders were able to pull him out from underneath before first responders arrived.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Preliminary information from a witness suggested the incident may have been related to a possible catalytic converter theft, though this has not been officially confirmed.

The investigation remains ongoing.
