Man Killed After Argument Escalates To Shooting

A verbal altercation turned deadly Monday evening in Huffman, leaving one man dead and another person in custody.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. on July 14, 2026, Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 700 block of Rolling Creek.

When deputies arrived, they found a man in his early 40s suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

According to investigators, the shooting stemmed from a verbal altercation that occurred prior to the gunfire. Authorities have not released details regarding what led to the dispute.

One person has been detained and is cooperating with investigators as detectives continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the fatal shooting.
