Man in Custody after Barricading in Car after Pursuit

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 4-23-24 3 p.m.
LOCATION: Gaffey Street / Sepulveda Street
AREA/CITY: San Pedro
DETAILS:

1. A pursuit of a stolen car ended after the suspect pulled into the parking lot of a restaurant.
2. The suspect did not get out, and has refused to surrender.
3. LAPD officers have surrounded the vehicle, and have shut down Gaffey Street from the 110 Freeway to 1st Street.
4. After teargassing the car, the man was taken into custody.
5. He was checked by firefighters, but was not transported.
6. Gaffey Street is now partially reopened.
