Man Found Dead After La Mirada House Fire
One person was found dead following an overnight house fire that later became a law enforcement investigation in La Mirada.
At approximately 11:09 p.m. on August 16, 2026, firefighters responded to the 12600 block of Oxford Drive following reports of a fire inside a two-story condo.
Arriving crews encountered smoke coming from the front of the residence and made access through the garage. Firefighters located a small contents fire inside a room near the garage and quickly extinguished the flames, although heavy smoke had filled the interior.

Paramedics and EMTs performed CPR, but the victim was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene. Neighbors described the victim as a male.
As firefighters began clearing the incident, personnel could be overheard referring to the location as a crime scene. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies remained at the residence and appeared to be taking over the investigation.
