Man Flees Freeway TC & Then Gets Hit By A UPS Truck On The Freeway

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 8-27-24, 4:14 pm
LOCATION: EB 91 East of Van Buren Blvd
AREA/CITY: Riverside
DETAILS:

1. California Highway Patrol and Riverside Fire Department responded to a 2 car traffic collision on the freeway with an overturned car.
2. As they were enroute they started receiving calls of a man, the driver of the overturned car fleeing the scene of the crash.
3. According to several witnesses the man fled wrong way on the EB 91, ran across all lanes and jumped the center divider.
4. A short time later he was hit by a semi on the WB 91 near the van Buren Blvd. Offramp.
5. He was transported with major injuries, it is unknown what his current status is.
6. CHP said they have no idea why he was fleeing the scene.
7. The man was described as a Hispanic male, covered in tattoos.
8. A SIG alert has been issued and traffic is backed up to Corona on the EB 91
