Man Fatally Shot by Huntington Park PD

AREA/CITY: Huntington Park
DETAILS:

  1. A man is NOT expected to survive after a fire investigation turned into shots fired early Tuesday morning
  2. Firefighters were called to Salt Lake Park regarding a report of an outdoor fire
  3. When firefighters arrived on scene, they requested additional assistance to the location, advising that an assault had taken place, though their Information was quite vague
  4. LA County FD dispatch later advised that they were informed by HPPD that an officer involved shooting had occurred. One male was struck by gunfire.
  5. Paramedics found the man to be unresponsive and began CPR via a LUCAS device
  6. The man was rushed to a nearby hospital in grave condition, where he was pronounced deceased.
  7. The park has been cordoned off by police pending further investigation and the arrival of LASD Homicide investigators
