Man Fatally Shot At Houston Apartment Complex

At approximately 5:00 a.m. on June 28, 2026, Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies and EMS crews responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex in the 1100 block of Freeport in Houston.

When deputies arrived, they found an adult male suffering from at least one gunshot wound in the apartment complex parking lot near an SUV.

Paramedics transported the victim to a local trauma center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Unit investigators responded to process the scene and interview witnesses.

Video from the scene showed several individuals being detained while investigators worked to determine what led to the shooting.

Authorities also conducted gunshot residue (GSR) tests on several people at the scene as part of the investigation. Officials have not indicated whether those individuals are suspects, witnesses, or persons of interest.

No information regarding a suspect or motive has been released.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
