Man Fatally Shoots Fiancée’s Daughter’s Boyfriend

A domestic dispute turned deadly late Tuesday night after a family argument escalated into a fatal shooting in southeast Houston.

At approximately 11:10 p.m. on July 1, 2026, Houston Police officers and Houston Fire Department EMS responded to the 3700 block of Odin Court following reports of a shooting.

According to investigators, two men became involved in a physical altercation when one of the men pulled out a firearm and shot the other in the chest.

Paramedics began CPR on the victim, a man in his 30s, before transporting him to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Police recovered the firearm at the scene and detained the suspected shooter, a man in his 50s, who was transported to a hospital in stable condition.

Investigators said the suspect is engaged to a woman whose daughter was dating the victim, making the shooting the result of a family-related dispute.

A woman who witnessed the shooting was detained and interviewed by investigators, while another woman inside the home at the time told police she heard the gunfire but did not witness the incident.

The Houston Police Department Homicide Division is continuing to investigate the deadly shooting.
