Man Cut From Sedan Lodged Under Fuel Tanker

Phoenix Police and Phoenix Fire crews responded to reports of a vehicle collision requiring extrication.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a sedan pinned underneath a fuel tanker with an adult male driver trapped.
Firefighters quickly established an extrication sector and began working to cut the driver from the vehicle.
HazMat resources were requested due to fuel leaking from the tanker.
After an extensive extrication operation, crews successfully extracted the male from the vehicle.
The patient was transported to a local trauma center in critical condition.
HazMat crews were able to secure the trailer, preventing any more fuel from leaking.
The driver of the semi did not sustain any injuries.
A hard closure has been established for Durango Street spanning between 23rd Ave and 19th Ave while police investigate.
