Man Arrested After Pursuit & Ramming Officer’s Car

DETAILS:
- An SDPD officer spotted a male sitting in the left-turn lane of an intersection on University Avenue in City Heights.
- The suspect had a “green” light but was not moving.
- When the officer approached the suspect, the driver fled.
- A pursuit began and led to the 3800 block of Edna Place, where the driver pulled into a parking space of the Bridgeport Apartments.
- The officer stopped behind the male, and the male put the car into reverse, ramming the officer’s vehicle twice.
- More officers arrived, and a “Hot Stop” was conducted at gunpoint.
- The suspect finally surrendered but was uncooperative and aggressive.
- He will be facing several felony charges, including “assault on an officer.”
