Man and His Dog Attempt To Run After Stand Off

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 10-9-24 | over at 11:45pm
LOCATION: Carson & Carfax Ave
AREA/CITY: Long Beach
DETAILS:

1. That standoff between deputies from the Los Angeles County
   Sheriff’s Department’s Lakewood station and an allegedly armed suspect wanted
   for assault with a deadly weapon and robbery at the Carwood Shopping Center is NOW OVER as of 11:45 pm
2. The suspect somehow escaped the deputies and Bearcat, and a pursuit started. It ended on Carson near Carfax Ave and Heartwell Park.
3. LASD shot less lethal pepper balls into the car
4. He exited the vehicle with his dog and ran from deputies
5. Deputies gave chase and caught the man after shooting him and the dog
6. The dog is still on the loose.
