Malibu: Stabbing At Neptune’s Net Leaves Man Dead

06.22.2019 | 10:55 PM | MALIBU – A man was dead after having his throat slashed during an argument that broke out at an after-hours car meetup outside the iconic Neptune’s Net restaurant, Saturday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a stabbing in the parking lot of the Neptune’s Net restaurant located at 42505 Pacific Coast Highway around 10:55 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a man down in the parking lot bleeding profusely from multiple lacerations.

Firefighter paramedics attempted life-saving measures but the 23-year-old male succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.

Initial reports indicate the victim was part of a group of car enthusiasts who were meeting up at the iconic location.

At some point during the meetup a suspect, as Daniel Maldonado,  approached the victim and got into an altercation regarding a past issue.

Maldonado is suspected of slashing the victim’s throat and stabbing him multiple times after the altercation escalated into a physical fight.

Officers took Maldonado into custody at the scene and booked him on suspicion of murder.
