Male Trapped After Crashing Into Concrete Pillar
INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 230am 7-23-24
LOCATION: Westpark & S Rice
AREA/CITY: Houston
DETAILS:
- HPD and HFD responded to a mangled vehicle which struck a pillar on Westpark
- Arriving fire units found a male pinned inside the pickup, and the call was upgraded to an extrication
- male was cut from the wreckage within 10 minutes
- Male was transported to Hermann, and is expected to survive
- HPD S Gessner officers learned that the pickup came off the Westpark Tollway lanes above, and requested Precinct 5 (HCTRA Contract)
- HPD S Gessner Sgt checked with Precinct 5, and the tollway lanes are closed for now, but its not expected to be an extended closure.
- This may not impact inbound traffic for rush hour, but please check with HCTRA for closure updates
