Infant Killed in Major Crash on 215 Freeway in Riverside

At approximately 7:53pm on March 29th, 2026, California Highway Patrol officers and Riverside Fire Department crews responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision on the northbound 215 Freeway just south of Eucalyptus Avenue in Riverside.

Upon arrival, first responders located two heavily damaged vehicles with a total of six patients, including two children. Multiple additional ambulances and an AMR supervisor were requested due to the severity of the crash.

According to Riverside County Sheriff’s Coroner, a three-month-old child was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another child was transported with major injuries. Four adult patients were also transported, with authorities reporting several individuals in critical condition.

Witnesses reported CPR was being performed on an infant at the scene.

Several lanes of the northbound 215 Freeway were closed as crews worked the incident and investigators began determining the cause of the crash.

The investigation remained ongoing.
