Major Crash Involving Amazon Truck Blocks Northbound I-15 in San Diego

LOCATION: NB I-15 @ the I-8
CITY: San Diego
DETAILS:

1. A male contract driver for Amazon came down the hill on the northbound I-15.
2. The roads were wet from the rain, and he lost control.
3. This is a known location for semi-truck crashes.
4. His tractor and trailer went completely sideways before coming to a stop blocking the entire northbound lanes.
5. 3 other vehicles then slammed into the trailer.
6. Two people had to be extricated.
7. One major injury and two minor injuries.
8. All were transported to a local hospital.
9. The northbound lanes will be closed for several hours.
10. HAZMAT has been requested due to the semi-truck leaking fuel.
