Los Angeles: Woman Dead After Drive-By Shooting

12.14.2018 | 12:25 AM | LOS ANGELES – A woman was dead after being gunned down in an apparent drive-by shooting, Friday morning.

Deputies responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Whittier Boulevard and Eastern Avenue around 12:25 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a victim down on the sidewalk with apparent gunshow wounds.

Firefighter paramedics evaluated the victim and determined they were deceased.

Initial reports indicate a dark colored 1990’s Honda Accord opened fire on the pedestrian before fleeing the scene.

That vehicle, and the suspects, were later involved in a police pursuit and taken into custody in Downey after tossing the suspected murder weapon on a freeway.

Detectives were responding to investigate the incident.
