Los Angeles: Residents Use Emergency Fire Hoses To Help Battle Carport Fire

05.26.2019 | 2:04 AM | LOS ANGELES – Residents helped firefighters battle a carport fire in Highland Park, early Sunday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of an explosion with fire in the carport behind the Arroyo Seco Village Apartments in the 5800 block of Benner Avenue shortly after 2:00 AM.

Crews arriving on scene found a carport with multiple vehicles well-involved with fire and residents utilizing emergency fire hoses in attempt to douse the flames.

Firefighters stepped in to finish snuffing out the flames and to assist in evacuating the nearby apartment building.

At least two apartment units and an unknown number of vehicles were damaged as a result of the fire which remains under investigation.

No injuries were reported.
