Los Angeles: Motor Officer Injured After Crash Involving Suspected DUI Driver

09.27.2019 | 7:55 PM | LOS ANGELES – A veteran motor officer was injured after a suspected DUI driver collided with him, Friday night.

Officers responded to a motor officer requesting help near the intersection of 14th and San Pedro streets in the downtown area around 7:55 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a Los Angeles Police Department motor officer down in the roadway that had been struck by another vehicle.

Firefighter paramedics treated the downed officer on scene before transporting him to an area hospital in unknown condition.

The 37-year-old driver of the vehicle that struck the officer was uninjured but later arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Reports indicate the officer involved in the crash was a veteran officer with more than 20 years with the Los Angeles Police Department.
