Los Angeles: Massive Fire Destroys Fabric Warehouse

09.09.2019 | 12:10 AM | LOS ANGELES – A fabric warehouse burned for hours despite the efforts of over 180 firefighters, early Monday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a commercial structure fire at Payman Fabric in the 1900 block of East Seventh Street around 12:10 AM.

Crews arriving on scene found a 10,360 square foot single-story  commercial structure with fire showing through the roof of the building.

The intense flames and unsound structure necessitated a defensive-style fire operation where firefighters work to defend nearby buildings.

With 186 firefighters on scene it took approximately three hours to extinguish the blaze and prevent flames from spreading to adjoining structures.

Three firefighters were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries related to the fire.

Investigators were on scene working to determine the cause of the fire.
