Los Angeles: Freeway Closed After Overturned Tanker Truck Spills Load

11.15.2018 | 1:45 AM | LOS ANGELES – A busy freeway was closed after a tanker truck overturned and spilled a load of hazardous materials, early Thursday morning.

Police and fire responded to reports of a tanker truck overturned and blocking lanes on the southbound I-710 freeway near the I-5 freeway transition.

Units arriving on scene discovered the tanker truck overturned with an unknown substance leaking into nearby storm drains.

Firefighters quickly worked to contain the spill of materials later identified as a mix of waste oil and anti-freeze.

The driver of the truck was uninjured in the crash.

The freeway remained closed while crews worked to clear the scene.
