Los Angeles: Flames From Homeless Encampment Engulf Building

04.19.2020 | 8:34 PM | LOS ANGELES – Flames form a homeless encampment spread to a nearby commercial building leaving it damaged, Sunday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a rubbish fire burning in the 400 block of East Lanzit Avenue around 8:34 PM.

Units arriving on scene found a homeless encampment engulfed in flames that were quickly spreading to an adjacent commercial building.

Crews initiated an aggressive fire attack and extinguished the flames in under 30 minutes.

No injuries were reported but the commercial building was damaged.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
