Los Angeles: Family Trapped After Being Struck By Hit & Run Big Rig

03.29.2019 | 3:29 AM | LOS ANGELES – A family had to be cut free from their car after a hit and run crash involving a big rig, Friday morning.

Authorities responded to the reported traffic collision on the southbound I-5 Freeway transition to the I-405 Freeway near Sylmar around 3:29 AM.

Units arriving on scene found a Honda sedan that had been struck by a big rig with several occupants trapped inside.

Crews used the jaws of life and other power tools to cut the trapped victims from the wreckage.

At leas three occupants including children were treated on scene before being transported to area hospitals.

The driver of the big rig that reportedly struck the sedan fled the scene.

Officers are continuing to investigate and search for the suspect hit and run driver.
