Los Angeles: Driver Leaves Sheared Hydrant After Crash

01.12.2019 | 1:01 AM | LOS ANGELES – A ht-and-run driver left a geyser after shearing a fire hydrant, Saturday morning.

Officials responded to the reported crash involving a fire hydrant near the intersection of East 52nd Street and Central Avenue around 1:01 AM.

Units arriving on scene discovered an approximately 30-foot geyser coming from a sheared hydrant.

Crews worked to secure geyser, shutting off the flow of water within 30 minutes.

The vehicle that struck the hydrant appears to have fled from the scene.

No suspect description was immediately available.
