Los Angeles: Apartments Evacuated After Gas Explosion

01.05.2019 | 6:15 PM | LOS ANGELES – Two apartments buildings in Westlake were evacuated after a gas explosion damaged an underground vault, Friday evening.

Firefighters responded to a reported explosion near the intersection of Westlake Avenue and Seventh Street around 6:15 PM.

Units arriving on scene found smoke and flames from the sidewalk and worked to immediately evacuate two area apartment buildings.

Gas officials were responding to shut off gas to nearby lines.

The cause of the explosion remained under investigations.

No injuries were reported.
