Los Angeles: Apartment Evacuated After Honey Oil Lab Explosion

03.26.2019 | 12:27 AM | LOS ANGELES – Residents of a two-story apartment building in Koreatown had to be evacuated after a clandestine honey oil lab exploded, early Tuesday morning.

Authorities responded to the reported explosion at an apartment building in the 800 block of South Ardmore Avenue around 12:27 AM.

Units arriving on scene discovered a honey oil lab that appeared to have exploded, blasting a wall out and prompting the building’s sprinkler system to activate.

No injuries were reported as a result of the explosion but the building was evacuated while law enforcement investigated the circumstances surrounding the incident.
