Long Beach: Shooting Leaves Man Critically Injured

09.04.2019 | 11:05 PM | LONG BEACH – A man was critically injured when he was shot in the head, late Wednesday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a shots fired near the intersection of Golden and West Melrose avenues around 11:05 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a man down in an alleyway near the reported shooting location suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Firefighter paramedics treated the victim on scene before transporting him to an area hospital in critical condition.

Officers cordoned off the area while they investigated the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
