Long Beach: Police Pursuit Ends With Crash

06.05.2019 | 12:15 AM | LONG BEACH – A suspected DUI driver was in custody after fleeing from police and then crashing, early Wednesday morning.

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department’s 77th Street Division attempted to stop a white BMW on suspicion of DUI but the driver failed to yield.

A pursuit was initiated that eventually entered Long Beach before the suspect crashed into a vehicle at the intersection of 6th Street and Long Beach Boulevard.

The crash injured a passenger in the suspect vehicle and three others from the second vehicle including one who was trapped inside and had to be freed by firefighters.

The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
