Long Beach: Officer-Involved Crash Injures Two People
12.20.2018 | 1:05 AM | LONG BEACH – A crash involving a marked police vehicle hospitalized two people, Thursday morning.
A Long Beach police officer radioed to report he was involved in a traffic collision near the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and East 23rd Street around 1:05 AM.
Additional police units along with firefighter paramedics responded to the scene and discovered an officer driving a Ford Explorer police vehicle had collided with a sedan.
The officer was injured but two people inside the other car required treatment and transport to an area hospital.
It was unclear whether the officer was responding to a call at the time of the crash or whether his lights and siren were activated.
Police were on scene investigating the circumstanced surrounding the crash.
