Long Beach: Officer Injured After Crash

01.10.2020 | 1:16 AM | LONG BEACH – A female officer was injured after being involved in a traffic collision, early Friday morning.

Authorities responded to an officer who reported she had been involved in a traffic collision with another vehicle near the intersection of Esperanza Avenue and East Broadway around 1:16 AM.

Additional units arriving on scene located a three-car crash involving a marked Long Beach Police Department patrol vehicle, a BMW sedan, and a parked pickup truck.

Firefighter paramedics treated the officer on scene before transporting her to an area hospital in unknown condition.

The driver of the BMW refused treatment and was not believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
