Long Beach: Man With Rifle, Handguns Detained After Trying To Enter Bar

02.25.2019 | 9:40 PM | LONG BEACH – A man carrying two handguns and a rifle was detained by police after trying to enter a bar, Monday night.

Officers responded to reports of a man trying to enter a bar near the intersection of Nieto Avenue and East 2nd Street around 9:40 PM.

Units arriving on scene located the man who witnesses said appeared to be under the influence and detained him without incident.

During a pat-down the man was discovered to be in possession of two handguns and an AR-15-type rifle.

Police are investigating the man’s intentions.
