Long Beach: Fiery Crash Prompts Freeway Closure

02.11.2020 | 11:36 PM | LONG BEACH – A fiery crash prompted a temporary freeway closure, late Tuesday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision with fire on the northbound I-710 Freeway near the I-405 around 11:36 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a solo vehicle engulfed in flames after it apparently struck a guardrail.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and determine the vehicle was empty.

The driver or any occupants of the vehicle were not immediately located leading officers to believe it may have been a hit-and-run crash.

All lanes of the I-710 were closed at the I-405 as crews worked to clear the scene.
