Long Beach: DUI Crash Leaves One Injured, Another Under Arrest

06.09.2019 | 10:33 PM | LONG BEACH – One person was hospitalized and another was under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence after a crash, Sunday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision with one vehicle catching fire near the intersection of 10th Street and Termino Avenue around 10:33 PM.

Units arriving on scene found a two-vehicle crash with good samaritans extinguishing a small fire in one vehicle with a fire extinguisher.

Firefighter paramedics treated on victim on scene before transporting them to an area hospital in unknown condition.

Initial reports indicate that the white Toyota Rav4 was driving at high-speeds prior to the crash before slamming into the second vehicle.

Officers investigating administered field sobriety tests to the driver of the white Rav4 before placing him under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The highly agitated passenger in the Rav4 became irate and struck a photographer before being wrangled by police. The photographer declined to press charges and the woman was released at the scene.
