Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving an overturned big rig on the southbound I-605 Freeway near Willow Street around 1:15 AM.
Units arriving on scene located a three-vehicle crash involving an overturned big rig that was hauling a carnival ride.
Firefighter paramedics treated the drivers of two vehicles involved before transporting them to area hospitals with minor injuries.
The driver of the big rig was uninjured.
Initial reports indicate a Toyota Corolla crashed into the big rig causing it to strike a guardrail and overturn.
The force of the collision caused the big rig’s engine to be ejected into active lanes of the freeway before being struck by a BMW.
All southbound lanes were closed at Carston Street until further notice while crews worked to clear the scene.
