Line Fire Forces Evacuation of Running Springs

AREA/CITY: Running Springs
DETAILS:

1. The fire has changed direction in response to a change in wind and weather and is now headed toward Running Springs.
2. An evacuation warning was issued for the southeast side of Running Springs, covering everything east of Hwy 330 and south of Hwy 18.
3. People are already leaving town with trucks loaded with belongings as the smoke column towers over town, snowing ash.
4. The sun’s red glow creates an eerie feeling as residents scramble to prepare for the worst.
5. A very heavy law enforcement presence is everywhere on the mountain, like never before, as dozens of out-of-area patrol vehicles enter the area to help with imminent evacuations.
