Line Fire Burns 17,000+ Acres Above Highland

DETAILS:
- The Line fire has died down immensely since the dramatic activity that occurred all day.
- Firefighters are working to clear brush all along the upper eastern side of Highway 330.
- The fire has been mapped at 17,459 acres after today’s massive blow-up.
- Calveries of engines and resources are pouring into the mountain community as dozens continue to watch the fire from Highway 18.
- Highway 330 is completely closed, and Highway 18 is closed from kuffel canyon road up to big bear damn.
- The entire west side of the mountain, down to creatine, is under either evacuation orders or warnings.
- Dozens of people are still lining up at the gas station in Rim Forest and evacuating the area.
- On the lower end of Highway 330 by City Creek, active fire is still skunking around and making small uphill runs as helicopters continue nighttime water drops.
- There is still no word on whether there has been any loss of structure.
