Lilac Fire Forces Evacuations

LOCATION: Old Highway 395 & W Lilac Rd

DETAILS:

1. On January 21st, 2025, at about 12:43 AM, San Diego Calfire responded to another reported vegetation fire a few miles South of the Pala Fire near Old Highway 395 and Lilac Rd.
2. The first units at the scene reported a 2-3 acre fire with a moderate rate of spread and a structure threat in the next 20 minutes.
3. Multiple evacuation orders and warnings were issued for the community to the South and Southwest of the fire.
4. As of about 2:00 AM, the fire is reported to be 20-30 acres and is wind-driven.
