Large Commercial Junk Yard Fire In North Sacramento

DETAILS:
- A large commercial Junk yard in Rural North Sacramento Was scorched early this afternoon after a fire tore through more than half of the storage.
- At around 12:08 PM first responders were dispatched to reports of a large commercial structure fire in the rio linda area.
- The large black smoke column could be seen from miles away in all directions as the fire spread through the yard.
- When first responders arrived on scene the found the large junk yard was fully involved involed and spreading quickly.
- The temperatures outside were searing 100+ degrees of dry heat which allowed quick spread of the fire.
- Fire fighters immediately had no water issues as there were no fire hydrants in the area.
- water tenders and additional engines were ordered and could be seen shuttling water truck by truck to the incident from the nearest water source.
- It took fire fighters bout an hour to get full knock down on the fire.
- Extensive overhaul is expected and will likely be difficult and taxing due to the triple digit heat in the central valley today.
- The cause of the fire is unknown.
