LAPD Sergeant Struck By Car | Westmont

05/04/2021 | 9:40 PM | WESTMONT – At approximately 9:35 PM, officers from the LAPD Southeast Division responded to reports of a man with a gun near S. Figueroa Street / 111th Place. Officers arrived on scene and began setting up a parameter. At approximately 9:40 PM, LAPD radioed that an officer was down, and had been struck by a vehicle. LAFD was dispatched to treat the officer for his injuries. Paramedics transported the officer to a local area hospital in an unknown condition. There is a heavy police presence at the scene. Figueroa was fully closed between 111th and 109th while officers investigate the incident. It is unknown whether the suspect from the original call was apprehended.
