Lakewood: Fire Pit Burns Teens During Party

12.01.2018 | 11:48 PM | LAKEWOOD – A couple of teens were seriously burned at a house party when a fire pit reportedly “blew up,” late Saturday night.

Firefighters responded to reported burn injuries at a home in the 4700 block of Conquista Avenue shortly before midnight.

Crews arriving on scene found a male and female who had burn injuries to their bodies. The victims reported being near a fire pit when it “blew up,” burning them.

Paramedics treated the pair on scene and transported them to an area hospital with moderate to major injuries.

A number of teenagers were present at the time of the incident at what appeared to be a house party.

Due to the suspicious circumstances surrounding the injuries and party deputies were requested to the scene to investigate.
