Lakeview Terrace: Two Horses Killed, Riders Injured By Hit-And-Run Driver

10.25.2019 | 9:40 PM | LOS ANGELES – Two horses were killed and their riders injured after a hit-and-run driver collided with them, Friday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving horses in the 10200 block of Foothill Boulevard in the Lakeview Terrace area around 9:40 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a van that had struck two horses that were being ridden along the roadway.

Both horses were pronounced deceased on scene while both riders were transported to an area hospital with severe injuries.

The driver of the van, later identified as 32-year-old Rolando Garcia, fled the scene on foot and was arrested the next morning by officers.

Garcia was charged with felony hit-and-run and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
