Lake View Terrace: Firefighters Use Helicopter To Rescue Fallen Horse

08.09.2019 | 6:41 AM | LOS ANGELES – A horse named Sunny that fell down a steep hillside was rescued by firefighters using a helicopter, early Friday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a horse that had fallen down approximately 50-feet down a hillside.

Crews arriving on scene learned that Sunny, a 30-year-old male horse, had fallen around 3:00 AM and was unable to be rescued by locals.

A multifaceted rescue response was initiated as crews worked to evaluate various methods of safely rescuing Sunny.

Using a specialized team comprised of veterinarians and technical rescue specialists, crews used a helicopter to hoist Sunny into a nearby arena.

Sunny was tranquilized during the process and an initial medical evaluation revealed only minor injuries.

It was unclear how Sunny fell but he was expected to make a full recovery.
