Lake Forest: Suspected DUI Driver Flees Rollover Crash Before Slamming Into A Home

07.13.2019 | 9:30 PM | LAKE FOREST – A suspected DUI driver was under arrest after fleeing a rollover freeway crash and crashing again into a home, Saturday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a crash involving a vehicle that rolled-over several times on the northbound I-5 Freeway just south of El Toro Road at approximately 9:30 PM.

Units arriving on scene located evidence that a crash had occurred, including a working cell-phone and other vehicle-specific debris, but no vehicle.

Shortly after a caller reported that she had followed the suspect vehicle off the freeway into a residential neighborhood.

Officers responded to the last reported sighting location and found multiple fire department apparatus responding to a call.

The units investigated and discovered that the suspect vehicle had collided into a nearby home.

After conducting an investigation the driver was placed under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Building officials red tagged the home as a result of the collision.
