Lake Balboa: Attic Fire Displaces Family
04.05.2020 | 11:58 PM | LOS ANGELES – An attic fire left a family displaced and their home uninhabitable, late Sunday night.
Authorities responded to reports of a structure fire burning in the 16400 block of Hamlin Street in the Lake Balboa area around 11:58 PM.
Units arriving on scene located a single-family home with heavy fire showing from the roof and began efforts to extinguish the blaze.
Firefighters quickly doused the fire and achieved knock down on the flames within 21 minutes.
Initial reports indicate the family was roasting marshmallows when a stray ember ignited the attic.
No injuries were reported but the family was displaced as a result of the fire.
