LAFD Uses Hollywood Building For Firefighter Training

Los Angeles firefighters took advantage of a Hollywood building scheduled for demolition to conduct realistic training exercises designed to prepare crews for emergency situations.
On September 27, 2026, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department conducted training at a building located at 960 North Vine Street in Hollywood.
The building, which had been designated for demolition, provided firefighters with an opportunity to practice their skills in an actual structure rather than a traditional training facility.
LAFD crews conducted two separate training scenarios during the exercise, allowing firefighters to practice emergency response techniques in a controlled environment.
The training provided crews with hands-on experience before the building’s eventual demolition.
An interview with LAFD personnel discussing the training is included in the video.
